Itinerary Preview

Our representative will pick you up in Yogyakarta airport/train station and directly drive you northwest to Borobudur in Magelang Regency. OHD Museum is a private museum of Indonesian modern and contemporary art founded and owned by an eminent collector Dr. Oei Hong Djien (OHD). The museum has thousands of Indonesian artworks that had been collected since 1970's. As the saying goes, picture paints a thousand words, no explanation will be as good as seeing the unimaginable work of arts with your own eyes.

Overnight at Cempaka Villa (Superior Room)
Early in the morning, we will take you to witness breathtaking sunrise scenery from the top of Borobudur Temple. Borobudur is Buddhist temple which built by Sailendra Dynasty of Mataram Kingdom in the 9th century. Enlisted as the world's largest Buddhist archaeological site in the Guinness Book of World Records you definitely don’t want to miss it. There is no better time to appreciate the magnificent Borobudur temple together with the surrounding nature than in the morning, when you can savor its beauty in tranquility.

Around late morning, we'll head back to Yogyakarta City, drive north to Kaliurang to visit Ullen Sentalu Museum. Constructed to follow its natural landform on the slope of Mount Merapi, Ullen Sentalu museum will broaden your understanding of Javanese culture. The museum has exceptional collections of the intangible heritages, which include storytelling, folklore and ancient wisdom of Mataram royalties. The story is strengthened by unique relics, such as photographs, handwritten letters and personal belongings of the princesses. This is the right place where you can get extensive knowledge about batik and its tradition in Javanese royalty.

In the morning, we offer a free time for you. You can have some rest or maybe expand your food experience by trying some local cuisine.

In the afternoon you'll explore Prambanan Temple, the biggest Hindu temples in Southeast Asia, which also enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your exploration in Prambanan Temple will be accompanied by the perpetual presence of the deities, the magical creatures and enchanting folklores. The spectacular Hindu epic, including Ramayana and Bhagavata Purana, carved along on the wall of the three main temples. You can learn about the history details while observing the panels of narrative bas-relief sculpture on each temple.

That you've seen in the form of reliefs will be brought to you on stage by night. Ramayana Ballet is the centuries-old dance, an adaptation of Ramayana epic that performed in the west side of the complex. There are two theatres available, the Trimurti indoor theatre (during rainy season) and Ramayana open-air stage (during dry season), where hundreds of dancers will make the epic come to live. Some acrobatic acts along with dramatic stage lighting, theatrical costumes and exotic sound of gamelan instrumental will enhance the beauty of their performance.

Check out from hotel in the morning. Afterwards, we'll take you to enjoy the ambience that can only be found in Yogyakarta, where the most respected and influential Javanese monarchy is located. There are numerous monumental buildings all around the city. There are massive several gallery arts where you can find paintings and batik. There are distinctive silver arts and handicrafts that can be found in the historic neighborhood Kotagede. Spending some time in those incredible sites and galleries will bring joy to your last day in the city.

In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
