Itinerary Preview

After arriving at Yogyakarta Airport, you will be met by our representative who will take you to the Prambanan Temple or what so called as Candi Roro Jonggrang, the main temple complex in the Prambanan. This complex was built in the 8th century under the Mataram Hindu kingdom. This UNESCO World Heritage is undoubtedly the largest Hindu temple complex in Java. Prambanan has the three main temples that were dedicated to the three great Hindu divinities, Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma, the symbols of Trimurti in Hindu belief. It was found by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles in 1881 and being renovated by the government of Indonesia in 1930.

For about two hours you’ll amble around at the temple. Afterwards you’ll be transferred to your small but great resort in Borobudur. The transfer from Prambanan to your hotel is approximately one and half hour passing the snake fruit plantation. Perhaps you may stop for a photograph if you want.

This afternoon you’ll arrive at the resort. The 8 bungalows of your resort have the Javanese traditional architecture in the center of the heritages. Settle in and relax at leisure.

Overnight at Cempaka Villa (Superior Room)
Today you’ll up very early for a sunrise trip. Meet our representative and depart to Setumbu hill or as local say Punthuk Setumbu to witness a beautiful sunrise rising through the mountains and also chance to see the Borobudur from the distance. You will walk up around 300m to get the platform for sunrise viewing. This location is perfect for a photograph where the layers of foggy morning lie between the greens and the hills. Enjoy the God’s creation.

Finish the visit at Setumbu Hill, walking down to the meeting point and you’ll be transferred to Borobudur Temple and see the majestic heritage in the morning to avoid the crowd. This great temple had been listed as the UNESCO World Heritage List and is worth to visit. With vivid photography, and insightful commentary, this travel pictorial shines a light on the Buddhist art and architecture of this glorious ninth–century Buddhist temple. The relief brings you on a spiritual journey to enlightenment, tell the life story of Buddha, and the heroic deeds.

Afterwards you’ll be transferred to your hotel for a breakfast and morning coffee. Relax a bit and maybe get for a swimming. Around check out time, you’ll then be driven to your hotel in the city of Yogyakarta. En route you’ll stop at the Stupa Restaurant, a property of Plataran Borobudur for a sumptuous lunch.

This evening is free at leisure where you can explore the city and perhaps do the foodie walk trip on your own.

Overnight at Adhistana Hotel (Superior Room – Mid. Floor)

This morning after breakfast, you’ll head out to the old traditional market called Pasar Beringharjo. In here you’ll exploring the top level of the market where you can get the traditional food stallss like empal daging, soto (yellow turmeric beef soup), etc. This traditional market located in the central and was established during the Hamengkubowono I regime. Stroll among the local vendors selling vegetables, daily groceries until the batik and lurik cloths that you can find in the first level. Don’t be worry about the price, it is reasonable and your skill to bargain with local vendors will be tested.

If time allows, you’ll then continue for a visit to the Kraton Palace. Everyday there is different live performance from wayang (puppet), Tari Bedoyo (Javanese dance performance), gamelan show, etc. This living museum of Javanese culture is inspiring. During the visit you can see the daily life of abdi dalem of the Kraton. Really inspiring!

After visit Kraton, you’ll be driven to the Bale Raos that serving the royal cuisine for your today’s lunch. This afternoon, depending you flight departure you’ll transferred back to Yogyakarta airport for your flight back home.
